As a not-for-profit Society, Metro Cinema maintains a growing membership that helps shape the future of the organization by voting in our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and electing the volunteer Board of Directors. More than that, members have the opportunity to provide extra support to an independent cinema, access exclusive perks, and become further involved in our community.
Metro Cinema Society Membership resets annually and starts/ends on the date of our AGM in November.
There are three ways that you can become eligible for membership during the November to November membership year:
DONATE:
Minimum $100 per membership year.
- By donating a minimum of $100 at one time during the membership year, you become eligible for membership.
- A charitable tax receipt will be offered for your donation and you can donate directly at the theatre or via CanadaHelps.
- Donation is the fastest way to obtain membership eligibility.
SILVER SCREEN PASS:
$300 Silver Screen purchase per membership year.
- By purchasing a Silver Screen Pass during the membership year (which provides you with free admission to over 800 screenings), you become eligible for membership.
VOLUNTEER:
Minimum 12 hours per membership year.
- By volunteering a minimum of 12 hours during the membership year, you become eligible for membership.

After becoming eligible, you must register via the form below. If you register before you are eligible your application will not be approved and you will need to register again once you meet the criteria. After becoming eligible and registering, you will receive an email confirmation and instructions on how to obtain your physical membership card to begin receiving benefits and perks.

- Free admission to designated Member Night screenings (8 movies per year).
- $11 admission to regularly priced films. (One admission per film. Senior/Student regular admission movie tickets receive no additional discount to the already reduced admission price.)

If I was eligible last membership, does that make me eligible for this membership year?
No, eligibility resets along with membership expiry every November following the AGM. You will need to become eligible by donating a minimum of $100, purchasing a valid Silver Screen Pass, or volunteering a minimum of 12 hours during the new membership Year to regain eligibility and re-register for membership.
Do I need to re-register every year?
Yes. Once you become eligible, you will need to fill out the registration form again, but only once during each membership year.
Since membership resets every November, when is the best time to become eligible and register?
Your best value is to register as soon as you become eligible following the AGM so you can access the full perks and benefits of the entire membership year. You would become eligible by donating a minimum of $100 at one time during the membership year, purchasing a Silver Screen Pass valid during the membership year, or volunteering a minimum of 12 hours during the membership year.
Can I share my membership?
No, membership is for individual use and will only be linked to your personal information.
Do I need my physical membership card?
Yes, you will not be able to access your perks without it.
