12-year-old Bailey lives with her single dad and brother Hunter in a squat in North Kent. Bug’s time is taken up by various schemes and social time with his peers, leaving little time to care for his children. In his absence Bailey’s days are filled with caring for her brother, socializing with her own peers in their subsidized housing area, and getting lost in her very active imagination. When a seemingly adult man named Bird enters Bailey’s life as a new friend, and as she stands on the cusp of adolescence, her life takes a new direction.
