BRAZIL, 1971 – Brazil faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship. Eunice Paiva begins a lonely battle to learn the truth behind the disappearance of her husband, former PTB deputy Rubens Paiva, while trying to keep her family together.

 

The film is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s biographical book and tells the true story that helped reconstruct an important part of Brazil’s hidden history.

 

Nominated for Best Picture, Best International Feature, and Best Actress at the 97th Academy Awards.
