Metro Cinema would like to announce the departure of Executive Director David Cheoros, effective Sept 15th. Metro’s long-time Operations Manager, Dan Smith, will be stepping into the executive director on an interim basis, and the board of directors will be announcing a search process shortly.

David Cheoros joined Metro Cinema in May 2014. With David’s assistance, Metro has seen annual attendance rise to nearly 100,000 patrons per year. We have undertaken initiatives related to accessibility, community outreach and partnerships, and widened the circle of voices – of both filmmakers and curators – represented on our screen. David will be taking up a position with the Edmonton Arts Council.
