Hungary 2025, 86 min, Dir: Zsolt Pozsgai
Autumn 1353. A secret royal meeting takes place in Hungary between the Hungarian, Czech, and Polish kings, to which representatives of the smaller nations in the region are also invited. These small nations stand in the way of the kings’ alliance. An enthusiastic meeting begins, where old grievances come to the surface, old friendships and loves are revived or destroyed. This is one of the most interesting periods in medieval Eastern Europe. A glimpse into a grandiose plan that came to fruition and brought lasting peace to the region. But at what cost? Those expecting a traditional costume drama will be disappointed. This is not about costumes, it’s about life.
The film was completed in the spring of 2025 and has since received numerous invitations to major film festivals. It won the Best Film Award at the Central European Film Festival in Bucharest. It also won three awards at the Vegas Movie Awards in Las Vegas: Best Director, Best Cast, and Most Inspirational Film.
