River City Reels celebrates Metro Cinema’s connection to the North Saskatchewan River through a series of extraordinary films that feature rivers as a central theme. Audiences will go on a cinematic adventure down some of the most famous rivers on earth. Presenting these films as a series will guide viewers to see these iconic films—and the North Saskatchewan River itself—in new ways.

About the programmer: Scott Campbell was a publicist for more than 15 years, representing organizations and networks such as Hot Docs, TIFF, Cinematheque Ontario, MuchMusic, HBO Canada, and Crave. Today, Scott is a writer for the Alberta Ombudsman and Public Interest Commissioner. In his spare time, you’ll find Scott in the balcony at the Metro.
