NorthwestFilmFest is Alberta’s quirkiest international film festival, where the motto is: “Fact | Fiction | Film.” With screenings taking place exclusively at Metro Cinema, NorthwestFilmFest showcases nonfiction & narrative films from Canada & abroad, with a major focus on documentary features, truth-based Indies, and films from Alberta.

This year, NorthwestFilmFest proud to be showcasing a ton of films made right here in Edmonton, with premieres of local films DOLPH: UNBREAKABLE; THE PERFECT MATCH; THE FORBIDDEN UNIVERSITY; and the 2026 Edmonton Film Prize finalists. Other big premieres include MR. GOALIE, NEVER GET BUSTED!, ALI EATS AMERICA, HOLDING LIAT, and 50th Anniversary screenings of ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN and NETWORK.

NorthwestFilmFest takes place from April 8–14.
