Transit Info
The Garneau Theatre is easily accessible by public transit. The closest bus stop is serviced by the number 9 bus on 109 St. We are a 5-10 minute walk north of Whyte Ave, which is served by major routes 4 & 8, and we are also a short walk to the East from the University Transit Station, which is served by a number of buses and the LRT. Parking Info
Because we are a heritage structure, in the midst of a vibrant mature neighbourhood, parking can be a challenge. The Garneau Theatre does not have a dedicated parking lot but the City of Edmonton has metered street parking available in the surrounding area. There is also free parking available in the residential neighbourhood nearby, but we cannot guarantee it will be available and you will need to pay attention to all signage or you may get a ticket if you park in Resident Only zones.
We now have a deal with Tang Bistro across the street in relation to parking! With a minimum $5 purchase from Tang Bistro, and you must register your license plate in the restaurant, Metro patrons may use their small parking lot. It is located behind the restaurant, accessible from 108A street or the alley right off of 109th Northbound. Please read the signs and make sure you are not accidentally parking in the Reserved parking lot next to it while attending a film.
