Hockey has the power to unite communities, but building a better hockey culture requires accountability, leadership, and the courage to confront difficult truths about decades long issues with intimate partner violence and sexual assault.
Join End Violence Everywhere (EVE) for a FREE public screening of Code of Misconduct, followed by a panel discussion about solutions to make hockey safer, survivor advocacy, and creating a future where all fans and players of the game feel respected.
Featured speakers include Rick Westhead, award-winning TSN investigative journalist whose reporting has helped expose systemic failures in hockey and bring questions of accountability into the international spotlight; Mama Stanley (Mary Loewen), survivor of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, and Edmonton’s beloved hockey superfan whose commitment to survivors became especially visible when she publicly withdrew her support for the Edmonton Oilers following its signing of a player previously acquitted of sexual assault charges; and Cait Alexander, Founder and CEO of End Violence Everywhere, an artist and survivor advocate working to confront violence and create meaningful change for survivors across Canada and the United States.
Together, they will explore what it takes to move beyond the status quo and build a hockey culture rooted in respect, consent, responsibility, and meaningful accountability.
Free admission. Please RSVP.
