Custom Poster Auction - Volunteer Designer List
These are the designers that the Custom Poster auction winner can choose from to have the film poster created by. After selecting a designer you will be connected with our Communications Manager and your chosen designer to consult with them on your ideas for the poster. Ideally everything will be discussed in this meeting, but you can work together to decide how to approach the whole process in a way that works for both of you.

Andy Cookson is a local comedian, illustrator and small business owner. Outside of his work with Metro Cinema he has contributed to; comic book anthologies, newspaper illustrations, album artwork and t-shirt designs. When he’s not doodling he can be found being silly on the Grindstone stage as a member of local sketch troupe, HAM.
Breanna Barrington is a serial dabbler from Grande Prairie, AB. She loves to draw, write, paint, make posters, crochet, pet cats, paint houses, recycle, watch movies, and do that thing on road trips where you squint one eye and pretend that your pointer and middle finger are running legs that can jump over fast moving power poles and other obstacles on the side of the road. Hey! My name is Carlos Palma, a Graphic Designer from Latin America, now designing professionally in Edmonton. I personally find enjoyment in hiding movie easter eggs into my posters and expressing clever movie details through symbolic imagery, deliberate textures, and powerful fonts so every time you see it, you capture something new! To me, a poster shouldn’t just look fun, but it should spark curiosity! That’s the same manner in which I hope to treat your custom poster!
Daniel Tansy is an artist based out of Edmonton, AB. He knows 6 jokes, can eat far more than he should, and loves drawing up custom commission posters.
Demmi Dupri is an Edmonton-based artist and performer who has been creating for many years. Her work combines balloon art, collage, illustration, and playful visual storytelling. With a background in theatre, clown, and visual art, Demmi creates colourful, whimsical pieces that celebrate creativity, humour, and joy.
Isaac Pollard is a photographer, digital artist and lifelong film fanatic. Pulling from his love for artifice, texture and vintage poster design, he’s been creating posters with Metro since 2022. He has experience with photography, illustration, and digital painting
Izzy is a graphic design student at the UofA, finishing her last year. She has a passion for poster-making and exploring many different artstyles, expanding her knowledge of typography along the way!
Jordan Carson is an illustrator, designer, and web/UX content strategist with a lifelong habit of turning problems into puzzles to solve. From margin doodles as a kid to logos, illustrations, and digital content today, the drive hasn’t changed: find a better answer! There’s probably a deeper reason this is so satisfying, maybe deep-seated trauma…let’s not unpack that. It’s easier to just make cool stuff with cool people. 😀
Megan is a multidisciplinary artist encompassing many mediums but typically sticks to digital, pencil crayon or gouache/watercolour painting for her Metro posters. Cohesive colour palettes, expressive linework and playing with different compositions or the emotional core of the movie are typically what she gravitates towards in any given poster design.
I’m Mekayla, an artist from Edmonton. I mainly work with oil pastels and pencil crayons. Much of my work is inspired by dreams and fairytales—their rich colours, strange imagery, and sense of unexpectedness. Within my art, I like to explore texture and mark-making. I’m especially interested in horror and have been enjoying experimenting with bringing that into my work.
Mike Kendrick is an illustrator and designer who’s been making posters for Metro Cinema since 2023. His work is inspired by the Midcentury Modern designs of Saul Bass, the title cards of Maurice Binder, and the whimsy and woes of countless entries in the canon of genre cinema.
Nicole Chik (she/her) is an emerging, Malaysian-Chinese artist and illustrator based in Edmonton, Alberta. She enjoys creating art inspired by things that makes her happy.
N Fitzpatrick (@ArtHasAFriend) is an Edmonton-based illustrator, cartoonist, and multidisciplinary artist.
Nina is a local Edmonton creator and educator with a strong passion for visual arts. She has been volunteering as a poster designer for the Metro Cinema for over 3 years, with her first design used for one of the iconic Garneau Theatre screenings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in 2023. She uses various mediums when designing posters, typically blending her drawing, painting and collaging skills with digital design to capture the essence of the film. Nina loves to design posters for films she knows and loves such as Brokeback Mountain, but also likes to take on the challenge of designing posters for movies she’s never seen before. She can find inspiration to create anywhere, and is excited to work with you to design the movie poster of your dreams!
