A PAGE OF MADNESS is a silent experimental horror film in which a retired sailor gets hired in a mental hospital as a janitor to get close to his wife, who was locked away after the murder of their child. He tries to make her escape, but his wife refuses to follow him. As he attempts to rescue her from the institution, his plans lead to chaos and tragedy, reflecting themes of madness, regret, and the impact of his past decisions on their family.

Using an empathetic and humanizing yet also raw and direct lens, A PAGE OF MADNESS shares the many faces of mental health struggles through narrative, cinematography, and experimental film techniques. Anju Singh uses her project The Nausea to reflect this experience and exploration of the film through a multi-instrumental live-scored composition written for the film. Never shying away from boundary pushing territory, the score uses percussion, strings, synthesizers, and electronics to echo the extremes, dissonances and nuances of mental health experiences that the film aims to portray. The event will provide an environment to facilitate a cathartic and reflective sonic and film experience.
